When working with ink, I have been trying out new products in order to add some more control to my line work. I have always enjoyed the convenience of a pen but I was always able to get smoother lines with a brush. I have also been working more with India ink so I found this pen that was perfect for all of these needs. The Faber-Castell PITT brush pen is an artist brush pen that has a flexible tip that acts much like a fine tip artist’s brush. Working with this pen is quite a bit cleaner than using a brush with India ink so you can keep your work from getting any drips all over it. I really enjoyed the comfort and control I got with this pen. It would work very well with calligraphy and hand lettering. I would like to be able to try it out a bit more so that I can perfect my technique with it. One think I learned about this pen and other artists pens from a helpful video on Youtube is that you actually can take them apart and refill them with just a few drops of India ink so that you can get much more use out of them. Check out my video demo below as I work with the Faber-Castell PITT brush pen for the first time.
