Have you ever heard someone tell you tracing is okay? Take a look into this tutorial riddled with tricks and tips on laying out a watercolor portrait.  This is an excellent way to set aside the technicalities of arranging a perfect representation of your subject and focus on the painting.

 

In this process, I use a variety of watercolor tools such as markers and pan paints. You can also substitute watercolor pencils. Never been afraid to touch up details after the paint has dried with regular colored pencils. Happy painting!
